HOW WE CAN HELP
We help at any stage – benefit-checks, new claims and form filling, mandatory reconsiderations, tribunal appeals, support at medical assessments, gathering medical evidence, understanding the questions you might be asked, guidance and tips.
There are 3 stages to claiming PIP:
-
1. You request PIP1 Form from the DWP – we help you complete the form
-
2. ‘How your disability affects you’ form – you can chose a paper form to be sent to you, or do it online using an email link
-
3. Medical Assessment – we support with both with the INITIAL assessment or it may be AFTERWARDS, when you’ve found that the healthcare professional had either not understood your medical condition or their report contains inaccuracies.
CHALLENGING THE DECISION
If you are unhappy with your decision we can help to request a mandatory reconsideration or an appeal. We will guide to prepare the right type of evidence and build a robust case.
TRIBUNAL REPRESENTATION
We offer tribunal representation including last-minute hearings. This includes full case preparation, writing tribunal Submission, going through the questions together, support, helpful tips and guidance to prepare for your day.
HEARING OPTIONS
by video or telephone hearing
Tribunal appeal hearings are now often held by telephone or video call. You can connect from a PC, tablet, or mobile phone. If you are worried about accessing or managing this type of hearing, you can choose another method.
in person or paper-based
You have the option to select either a face-to-face hearing or a paper hearing based solely on documents. Statistics indicate that face-to-face hearings have a higher success rate compared to paper hearings. Support is available for both types of hearings.
TRIBUNAL DECISION
The Tribunal usually gives a decision on the day, or within 2 weeks. In case you disagree with the Tribunal’s decision, we will discuss your options and further support available.
